How it Works

How your heating system works - When air temperature in your house drops below the thermostat setting, a signal is sent for the boiler to turn on and warm up your house. Unfortunately, without the ORC system the thermostat only tells your boiler to turn on when the house is too cold or turn off when the house is too warm. There's no in-between.

It's not your boiler's fault - Without the tekmar® ORC reset system, your heating system doesn't know if it's a cool autumn night or the coldest winter day. Therefore, it works as if it's always the coldest day of the year and heats the water to a maximum temperature (typically between180-190ºF). Most locations in the United States have less than 10 days a year that require these extreme temperatures.

Keep your old boiler & save energy - tekmar® ORC system's unique outdoor sensor sends information to calculate the proper water temperature required by your boiler for maximum efficiency. Best of all, the system adjusts before you ever feel too cold or too warm, while lowering your fuel consumption.

Add Intelligence to Your Heating System - Outdoor reset controls save energy by calculating the ideal boiler water temperature for every day of the year. Why heat the water to 190ºF when the system only needs 140ºF to get the job done? Using temperatures that are in excess of what is needed causes the system to cycle on and off and results in a higher overall heating cost. Just as you adjust your driving speed to get better fuel mileage and a smoother ride, a reset control adjusts the boiler temperature to improve efficiency and comfort.
